About the pathway

A Product Manager identifies the customer need and the larger business objectives that a project or product will fulfil.

These online courses introduce you to Agile ways of working and thinking that are essential for anyone developing products and services in the public sector.

By following this pathway, you will:

  • Learn the ideas, values and principles we need to adopt an Agile mindset as well as the essential characteristics of high performing teams.
  • Understand the importance of aligning teams around shared purpose and common goals.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of an Agile mindset and how you will be able to apply it in your work (the MVP for Product Managers).
  • Learn about the connections between your product or service goal and vision.
  • Understand how you can create a compelling product roadmap for your proposed services.
  • Evaluate elements of the product life cycle.
  • Connect the vision to your product backlog whilst exploring the tasks and stories that drive value to your users.
  • Demonstrate estimation and planning tools and techniques and how they can help teams understand and plan development of products, services and features.
  • Understand the basics of Agile estimation and planning and how we can use them to help prepare a strategy for delivery.
  • Learn how Agile estimation and planning can help you size a product backlog and prioritise delivery of what adds most value.
  • Be able to critically assess project context and workplace for Agile Maturity, and assess and apply key tools for Agile requirements elicitation and refinement, data and processes.
