Description

Who is this course for and Prerequisite:

This course caters to individuals with a minimum of 6 months’ experience in the public sector in following roles:

  • Business Analysts
  • Product Managers
  • Delivery Managers

Participants should have completed the “Why Agile” and “Scrum” courses or possess equivalent knowledge and experience.  If you haven’t attended the courses (“Why Agile” and/or Scrum) you may not receive the full benefit of the learning.

What will my 2 days look like?

  • Through interactive activities and real-world simulations, you’ll work in teams while you delve into the fundamentals of building a new product from inception to prototype testing. 
  • On Day 2, the majority of the course time will be spent on working with your team building up to a final presentation.  On the whole, we estimate 50% working with your team in breakout room and 50% will be spent learning together.  You will be supported by your facilitators throughout these 2 days.
  • In order to make the most of this course, you should feel at ease collaborating with team members while organising tasks within an entirely activity-based setting utilising breakout rooms on Microsoft Teams and Mural.
  • We recommend having your camera on during the course as you will be part of a team, working together in a small group.

What will I learn:

During this learning journey, you will develop insights and skills, encompassing:

  • Remembering techniques for productive meetings and workshops, including strategies for team setup and effective communication.
  • Understanding methods for identifying user needs and validating them, along with crafting product visions to guide development.
  • Applying knowledge to create user story maps and collaborative workshops, as well as define measurable goals and metrics for product success.
  • Analysing risks, communication strategies, and workflow management techniques to mitigate issues and ensure transparency with stakeholders.
  • Creating experiments for iterative improvements, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and conducting self-assessments to devise personalised learning plans for ongoing development.

This course will help you develop the knowledge associated with the following DDaT skills: 

1. Agile Ways of Working and Digital Perspective

  • Learn and apply an agile mindset, principles, practices and tools from a digital perspective 
  • Maintaining momentum throughout the product lifecycle by optimising processes and visualising your work
  • Collaboratively inspect and adapt your team’s ways of working while ensuring a user-focused approach
  • Innovate! Be Creative! Try by doing 🙂 

2. User Focus and Product Vision

  • Ensuring user needs are validated and prioritised in creating a clear product vision
  • Understand the difference between a vision, a roadmap and a product backlog
  • Learn how to conduct experimentation, importance of metrics and how to facilitate story mapping workshop

3. Team Dynamics and Collaboration

  • Creating a collaborative environment conducive to team dynamics.
  • Visualising and managing team workflow to aid collaboration
  • Working together in a team and self organising
