Description

The Scottish Digital Academy is working in partnership with CodeClan to deliver this course. 

This course is for business leaders who want to understand the value and utilise the power of data, but may not know where to start when it comes to collecting, storing and analysing the data within their organisations. 

This course will help to demystify the key concepts and terminology in the data world, and help you understand how data projects are run. 

The course will cover

  • Value of Data

  • Data Maturity

  • Data-driven decision making

  • Machine learning and AI

  • Roles in Data

  • Known problems in data

  • Question and Answer Session

Outcomes

At the end of this course, participants will

  • Understand the value of data and how this can be used to drive better decision making.

  • Be equipped with the ability to start making better decisions with appropriate data.

  • Be able to identify their maturity level and the steps needed to improve this.

  • Develop their understanding of data teams, roles, and strategies and when these are needed.

  • Understand the limitations of data and when to question this.

  • Develop a basic understanding of machine learning and AI.

Eligibility

  • This course is for non-technical people in leadership roles who wish to understand the key concepts of Data, and how it can be leveraged to assist in their leadership roles.

  • You must be employed by a public sector, public service, third sector or education sector organisation to attend this course.
